MCT-Base Transceiver Station Solution

MCT-Base Transceiver Station Solution

Base Transceiver Station  (BTS)

The MCT-BTS model MCT900-V1 is the first national designed GSM900 BTS, developed by MCT (Mobile Communications Technologies).

The Base Transceiver Station (BTS) is the basic element of every wireless communications network.

In GSM 900/1800 cellular communications each BTS can be configured as Omni or Sectored depending on planning requirements.

The BTS communicates with MS (Mobile Station) through Air interface (Um) and A-bis interface with BSC (Base Station Controller).

One of the main features of the MCT-BTS is the flexible Abis interface (transparent to other brands of BSCs ).This enables the operators to connect the MCT-BTS to their existing BSS equipment and reduces future expansions costs.

Architecture:

MCT900-V1 BTS is designed for 2nd generation of GSM 900 and supports ETSI  recommendations. The use of modern technologies in hardware and software architecture makes manufacturing, installation, expansion, operation and maintenance simple.

Thanks to Utilizing Software Radio Techniques in our 2nd Generation BTS the operators have a free hand to meet the future trends.

Through IF Sampling techniques and wide spread use of Advanced Digital Signal processors have made the implementation of complex DSP algorithms simple, and innovative parallel processing architectures are used to meet the required processing power.

Using equalizers based on the Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation and also modern channel estimation techniques, the MCT900-V1 BTS receiver can combat multi-path fading and compensate the path delay up to 20 microsec.

Designing the highly linear power amplifiers greatly reduces the spurious emitted signals of the MCT900-V1 BTS. Advanced RF circuit design concepts have significantly decreased  EMI, simplified Packaging, and thus realized compact RF units.

The design of combiner filters using DR Technology creates fast and accurate tunable combiners realization possible.

All units of the MCT900-V1 BTS are monitored, and debugged via the powerful O&M 2Mbps links using HDLC protocol. In addition, this powerful O&M helps the fast software downloading process.
